Seaton Carew Cricket Club was founded in 1829 and has been one of the major cricket clubs in the Town.
In 1882 the club realised the value in developing young players and has been developing its junior infrastructure and players since. Developing young players is still a major focus of the club.
The Club has been running successful teams since its beginnings and the teams have been playing in the North Yorkshire and South Durham League consistently since 1962.
In 1973 the club built the clubhouse with financial help from the English Cricket Board, which later became known as Seaton Carew Sports and Social Club and more recently Hornby Park.
The area at Hornby Park boasts one of the best quality wickets in the area. The clubhouse has been expanded further over the years with new changing rooms and the club house has recently been refurbished.
Seaton Carew Cricket Club revised an opportunity for budding cricketers from the age of six years right through to adulthood to experience fun as well as competitive cricket.
In 2020, we had some great achievements in some pretty difficult circumstances, with our first team coming fourth and our second team winning the league.
We are looking for people who want to play cricket or support us as a volunteer. We are so proud of our club and would be delighted if you would like to join us, just get in touch.
The club are affiliated to the English Cricket Board and Durham Cricket Board.
