A local recreation club is only as good as its members.
And at Hornby Park in Seaton Carew, the lifeblood of the place is volunteering, good sportsmanship and old-fashioned camaraderie.
It originated as Seaton Carew Cricket club in 1829, before expanding to include a rugby club, which will celebrate its 100th birthday in 2021, as well as a large football section.
More recently, the club has become a charitable incorporated organisation, allowing it to operate as a community hub and provide more activities for local people.
When it reopens after lockdown, the team have plans to run lots of different events and classes, including art workshops, chair exercises, Pilates, pub quizzes, flower arranging and darts.
It'll also be the first opportunity for many members to see the place following it's impressive transformation; a group of hard-working volunteers spent much of last summer giving the 'tired' old building a make-over.
Teesside Live met with the volunteers behind the renovation, and found out what draws it's members back year after year.
